Standing in front of Yasu waterfall, you might hear not only the sound of nature but a voice of desperate, unfulfilled love. Yasu waterfall located at the upper part of Nakanomata valley. The waterfall was chosen as one of Japan’s Top 100 waterfalls. You can see two waterfalls, 60m main drop in upper part and 30 small drop at the downer part. So why you hear the screams of love? Well, there is a legend. There were Yasu and Hisataro, who both lived in the valley. They fell in love. However, their relationship there was forbidden because of tradition and family relations. Yasu left the valley and Hisataro drown his self into waterfall because of sadness. Since then, people call the waterfall as Yasu waterfall, and some young people go to the waterfall and wish for their peaceful relationships.
