About

One of 100 waterfalls representing Japan
The fall is 100m in length with a drop of 57.4m and consists of three minor waterfalls. Hottai Falls is also famous as it was used for the movie’s climax scene in the live-action adaptation of “Sanpei the Fisher Boy” (2009). The waterfall, flowing from the depths from the magnificent Chokai Mountain, was expressed as ”Legendary Paradise” in the movie. In the upper stream known as Tamata Gorge, there is an ideal 2.5 km walking trail to enjoy the great outdoors. There is a campground which allows you to relax while watching the brilliant waterfalls and is very popular among families.
