About

Mt, Chokai- widely known as Fuji of North Japan- stands on the prefectural boundary between Akita and Yamagata.
In Spring and Summer various mountain plants flourish, in Autumn leaves turn them into bright colours, and in winter it will be covered by sheer white snow. It is the highest mountain in the Akita prefecture with 2,236 meters of height and 5 kilometres walk. Unlike other famous mountains, the mountain road is quite relaxing for mountain enthusiasts but not any less exciting and enjoyable. Even in spring as you walk up towards the summit, you will see breathtaking scenery of lands covered by pure white snow, and in summer you will be amazed by the beautiful alpine plants you can only see at Chokai mountain.
